🌴 About Ubud: An Oasis for Healing
Bali is one of the 17,000 islands of Indonesia. Bali itself is made of 4 islands, the most well-known being mainland Bali. Ubud is the geographical center, and the cultural, spiritual and arts center of mainland Bali. Ubud is derived from the Balinese word “Ubad’, meaning medicine. Ubud has long been known for powerful curative energy and for centuries people have flocked to this oasis for healing. An array of yoga offerings, breathwork, sound healing, and spiritual healers can be found in Ubud. Ubud has some of the most popular tourist destinations for Bali including sacred water temples, the Monkey Forest, picturesque rice terraces, waterfalls, and the traditional shopping market. Ubud was nominated by the Ministry of Tourism as a world gastronomy destination. It is a foodie haven, especially when it comes to vegan and gluten-free food. As the geographical center of Bali, the other hot spots to visit are easily accessible.
