What is a Blue Zone

A Blue Zone is a region where people live significantly longer and healthier lives than average. These areas are characterized by high concentrations of centenarians, lower rates of chronic diseases, and lifestyles that include a healthy diet, regular physical activity, strong social connections, and a sense of purpose. The term was popularized by author and researcher Dan Buettner, who identified five primary Blue Zones: Okinawa (Japan), Sardinia (Italy), Ikaria (Greece), Loma Linda (California, USA), and the Nicoya Peninsula (Costa Rica). Let’s visit these Blue Zones together to cultivate longevity practices we bring home with us!
